Single Session Mentorship

Would it help you to talk privately with an Elder, a guide?

Dear parent, of course, you are fully capable of showing your child the gifts of Nature. We know you can trust your intuition and go with the flow of each day, open to receive guidance and goodness from the earth so you can pass this on to your child.

busy table-72But some times, you might be stuck. It might be nice not to have to search dozens of books or the Internet for directions when you have a question which is personal and not general. Think of the relief you would feel to know you are able to check in with a qualified and experienced Elder who can help answer these questions for you.

Some parents have used our 90-minute session to plan a garden of edible flowers and plants they can grow in a patio planter with their toddler or they’ve asked specific questions about bio-dynamic or organic growing techniques to begin to grow healthy food for their family. While not a ‘master beekeeper’, Harry has provided help with honeybees and other ‘creepy crawlies’. Other parents have asked specific questions about what they’ve found in the woods ~ “What is this?” or “How can we save seeds from the wild flowers we found by the road?”  Harry’s Chemistry, Botany, organic farming, camping and other broad expertise is available for you to tap.

Others have used a session to go in-depth into gentle natural solutions for separation anxiety (especially in preparation for daycare or kindergarten), so they have a plan that will support their own, unique child. And other parents have come to us for guidance around sleep – there are so many books and blogs and even sleep coaches (and they are wonderful!) – what we can share is the wisdom of the elders, that has been passed down but, in recent generations, somewhat forgotten. Some have asked for recommendations about how Nature can aid their children’s emotional and behavioral challenges in unique ways that are nearly forgotten or are undervalued these days.  Deb’s doula training, experience facilitating parenting classes and her child-rearing experience as a mother of five as well as her ingrained path of turning to Nature for healing and wellbeing are at your service.

We are here to help answer questions about explorations and discoveries in Nature, growing your own food and/or flower and herb garden as well as to guide and support you to use herbs and sacred movements for your child’s health and wellbeing.

Deb and Harry

We both have 30 plus years experience being parents. We’ve homeschooled and two of our children were born at home. Harry was widowed, Deb has been divorced so we truly know and understand the potential challenges that families face. Together, we’ve farmed organically and bio-dynamically, landscaped, grown our own food, built our own passive solar house, made our own medicines and flower essences (so we infrequently need to go to the doctor). We’ve hiked mountains across the US and Alaska. And we are deeply committed to living a simple good life full of family and friends while contributing to our local community and economy.

What makes us able to serve? With our years, we’ve accumulated experience, wisdom and knowledge ~ the kind of knowledge that can’t be found in books or articles.

We trust that if you’ve found your way here, you have many of the same values that we do ~ kindness, goodness, wholesomeness and respect. We trust you’d like to have a front and center relationship with Nature. And we assume that your family is very important to you.

We designed this business to support you in bringing Nature into your life more meaningfully, dear parent. We are here to help you.

We don’t believe you need anything fancy to enhance your relationship with Nature ~ no big day planner keeping you on task, no encyclopedic knowledge (which you are most welcome to acquire, by all means) or enough knowledge to be an herbalist yourself. You don’t have to be out hiking every day of the week. We believe you can develop and grow your relationships with Nature and each other based on simple joyous living.

Who can we help?

We help parents who have questions which are unique and specific to their families needs. We help parents who are just plain ol’ too busy to make their way through the plethora of information available to them and yet, are looking for guidance, assistance and wisdom.

We help parents who are committed to developing healthy relationships with Nature and in their families.

Who is this service not designed for?

We want to be very clear that we are not doctors, therapists, psychiatrists or mountaineering guides. If you need someone with that level of expertise, it’s best to go to them directly.

We prefer to develop close relationships with people. We may ask questions that are personal since we are trying to find the best way to support you.

Also, this service is not for you, if you aren’t open to making some small changes in your life or if you aren’t committed to following through with at least some of our suggestions.

What does a mentorship session look like?

We offer consultations by phone or by Skype. You can request to speak with Harry about science and nature questions or Deb about the more personal intimate issues as well as herbs, flower essences and qi gong to aid your health.

You can talk to both of us about organic growing ~ Harry is the most knowledgable about vegetables and Deb can help with flowers.

You can split the time between us or we can all be on the call/skype session together. This is your time. What do you need?

Each consultation is up to 90 minutes long.

(Take note, dear kind parent. There are no refunds for this consultation. We will give you our very best advice, insight and expertise but we can’t guarantee results since there are things we can’t control, nor do we want to. Take what inspires you from what we suggest and leave the rest. You know best what you and your family needs.)

Reach out. We are right here to help you!
