Sweet Sleep Box

Does your child need sleep ~ easily entered and undisturbed ~ and you too?

Ah, remember those nights when you could lay your head down on the pillow and not wake up until the morning light came through the window. You slept soundly and felt restored when you woke up. You didn’t toss and turn or even need to get out of bed – all night long.

PeonyPetalBowl-72But right now, let’s face it ~ that feels like a long time ago. Now you wake up because your child wakes you. And once you are awake, it’s hard to get back to sleep. You lay there tossing and turning saying to yourself,  “If I don’t sleep well I’m going to be grouchy tomorrow. I could even get sick. I need to sleep.” Those thoughts make it almost a chore to go to sleep because you know that chances are, you aren’t going to get a good night’s sleep.

You know the same is true for your child. Of course, you wonder if she is waking up it may be because something is not right in her world. Is she hungry, cold, hot, troubled, had a nightmare?

You want to help both of you to sleep soundly.

By this time, you’ve searched on line and in books looking for ideas, suggestions and coping techniques. Maybe you’ve asked your friends what they do or asked your mom if she remembers this time and knows how she got through.

I know how it feels because I had four children. There was always someone awake in the middle of the night and quite truthfully, the worse I slept the more ill I became. I had Lyme Disease (even though I didn’t know it then) and my recovery was hindered by the constant interruptions.

Even now, years later, sleep is still the segue to good health for me. And with 25 years of Lyme Disease, I’ve tried just about every single pharmaceutical (to no avail), technique, herb, flower essence and combination of tools to aid me to have a full good night of sleep. It’s essential to my wellbeing.

As Grandparents of the Forest evolved, not getting enough sleep – for both child and parent, became a recurring theme when working with mommas and their children. So I thought maybe I could help by offering my experience and the knowledge I’ve gained through the years.

Here’s what my Sweet Sleep Box Includes:

I wrote a 32 page guidebook, A Guide to Sweet Sleep, which covers these topics: what can we do during the day to aid sleep at night, preparing the bedroom for sleep, bedtime rituals, herbal sleep aids, Sacred Forest ® Flower Essences, Qi gong, acupressure points and other freshly remembered tips and suggestions.

I accompany this book with…SF Red Clover 275x300

  • 2 Sacred Forest Flower Essences especially effective as sleep aids
  • 2 packets (3 oz. each) of dried herbs for bedtime teas
  • A sachet mix of 3 dried herbal sleep aids to keep by your child’s bed

Hopefully, you’ll be able to integrate some of these tips and guides into a beautiful routine.

  • You’ll have a special uniquely designed bedtime ritual to signal rest and comfort that both you and your child will treasure
  • You’ll be able to leave your child’s side knowing that he’s safe, comfortable and assured
  • You’ll then be able to have a bit of time to yourself or with your partner to treat yourself to all those special things that you need for your own soul
  • You’ll go to sleep knowing you’ll be able to get a good night’s sleep
  • You’ll wake up refreshed and rejuvenated as will your child, ready to start the new day full of energy and happiness

I know, it sounds too good to be true, right?

SF Yarrow, White 275x300You can do it. You really can. In the guidebook, I’ve outlined many different ways to help your child (and you) to sleep. You don’t have to do everything. You just need to find the things that make the difference between restlessness and deep sleep and then make them a part of your life.

Yes, there will still be times when your child or you wake up and even stay awake. But my hope and prayer is that instead of worrying about the next day and feeling panicked, you’ll feel empowered because you will now have many different tips and suggestions, herbs and flower essences to turn to. You’ll also be able to draw on some simple movements, sounds and points to massage to relax and settle into quiet sleep.

You won’t be alone in the middle of the night. You’ll have a place to turn to.

The Guide to Sweet Sleep is for parents who:

  • desperately need to sleep soundly
  • have children who need to learn skills to sleep soundly
  • are open to trying new bedtime routines
  • want to turn to Nature in the form of flower essences, herbs and Nature inspired movements for help instead of pharmaceuticals
  • are ready to breathe a sigh of relief after trusting the process

May you and your child sleep sweetly tonight ~
